Balloon Battle mode makes a return in Mario Kart 7, and has six battle courses you can fight on. Three of these return from previous games: Battle Course 1 (GBA), Big Donut (N64), and Palm Shore (DS). The other three are new. Take a look at these below:

As far as regular races go, Mario Kart 7 has 32 tracks, 16 of which are new, and 16 are remixed versions of older courses with added portions to take advantage of the game’s new features like gliding and underwater racing.
You can also customize karts in Mario Kart 7 by combining different parts. Karts are divided into three parts: body, wheels and the kind glider you use. Here are four examples of combinations from the game’s European website:
