Arc System Works is trying to add as many elements from Persona 4 into their fighting game Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. Just like battles in the PlayStation 2 game Rise pops up and gives players information and a SP gauge replaces a super meter. They even managed to get status changes into the game.
Yosuke and his persona Jiraiya can use the spell Tentrafoo. If it connects, the attack puts the other player into a confused status, which temporarily switches the left and right joystick inputs.
In one of Naoto’s super attacks she pulls out a rifle and fires special bullets that seals another players persona by putting them in silence status. A mutudi item would be helpful here, but Arc System Works have not announced items for the game.
Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena will have some customization features. You can change character colors, which explains why the demo I played had Yukiko with blonde hair and pink clothes. Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena will debut in arcades in spring 2012 with a console release slated for summer 2012 in Japan.
