Top-seller: Macross F: The Wings of Goodbye Hybrid Pack – 142,607
Nintendo 3DS sales: 73,933 | Total sales: 2,146,603
Last week, Namco Bandai and sports games ruled the software sales chart in Japan. Topping the list at #1 was Macross F: The Wings of Goodbye Hybrid Pack, comprising of both a movie and game. Following it at #2 was Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact. Then, at #3 was Go Vacation. All three games were published by Namco Bandai.
A few western-developed games made their debut in Japan last week, too. Most notable was poor Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which sold a measly 8,700 copies on the PlayStation 3. In fact, Deus Ex was outsold by a very wide margin by Dead Island, also on PS3, which Spike published in Japan.
Nintendo 3DS sales rose again last week, owing to the release of the pink 3DS. Along with increased hardware sales, Nintendogs + cats jumped back into the top-20 chart. It was joined by Ocarina of Time 3D, still selling consistently, and the Hudson-developed Tetris Axis.
