Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena uses a 4-button fighting system in order to be more approachable for fighting game beginners. Atlus released a sizable batch of new screenshots of the game today:

 

 

The console versions of The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena will come with the usual modes you’d expect. The ones announced so far are Arcade mode, Story mode, Score Attack, a Vs. mode, and an Online Battle mode that uses Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Moving on, here’s a rundown of confirmed characters so far:

Kanji and Yukiko haven’t been shown off yet. We assume Naoto will be in the game, too, naturally. Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is being developed at Arc System Works by the BlazBlue team. The game will release in Japanese arcades in spring 2012 and will move to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the summer.
