Eurocom is giving their Wii game GoldenEye 007 a facelift for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is an expanded version with more multiplayer modes, 16 player online support, and MI6 Ops challenge levels. The demo Activision brought to a press event didn’t have those features to test, though.

Instead, I trekked through the Severnaya with Daniel Craig. Just like the Wii title, the game briefly shows him as Bond before shifting into first person mode. I started the level with a silencer, but the first enemy was easy enough to sneak up to and take down. A Eurocom employee advised me to use stealth, but I decided to shoot my way through the level since its more fitting with Craig’s interpretation of Bond. Muscling through the stage was no problem once I scooped up a machine gun from a fallen soldier.

I suppose it’s nice to see GoldenEye 007: Reloaded with revised graphics, but the build I played had a couple of glitches. Sometimes, the textures would partially load and the rest would pop-in later. This usually happened when a stage first loaded. Speaking of loading times, starting the game also took a fair amount of time to process. Both of these issues, a Eurocom employee explained, would be fixed for the final release. He also pointed out GoldenEye 007: Reloaded runs at 60 frames-per-second. Once the game loaded, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded felt fluid.

Activision plan to release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded this fall, which means it will go toe to toe with the publisher’s next Call of Duty title. GameStop lists the title as a $59.99 game, but this price was not confirmed by Activision.
