I got to try a demo of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. While this early version only had Japanese voice acting and Shippuden series fighters, the final game will also have characters from Naruto’s youth. Just like Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4 you can set up a match between young Naruto and Shippuden Naruto.
I started by experimenting with the Raikage, one of the brand new characters in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. C and Darui were automatically assigned as his support characters. Call Darui and he can fires his Laser Circus attack, which can hit an opponent trying to run from the Raikage with a volley of laser beams. C’s support move was Flash Circle and that has him leap in and land with a blast of light. Compared to Darui’s attack, C’s move covers a wider area, but doesn’t extend as far. After hitting Sasuke with two support attacks I rushed in with a chain of kicks and foot stomps. With my opponent weakened, I went in for the kill, charged up my chakra, and hit Sasuke with a Liger Bomb.
Next, I tried using Sasuke who uses Susanoo as awakening in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Generations. Naruto’s awakening turns him into the four-tails. In this form, Naruto ran faster and did more damage. The fighting system felt just like CyberConnect2’s other Ultimate Ninja Storm games. At least in this build, there weren’t any significant tweaks, other than adding the Raikage.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is slated for release next year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
