And that’s because Atlus announced a pre-release price drop. The Cursed Crusade will retail for $39.99 when it comes out on October 11. Don’t let the armored knights mislead you, The Cursed Crusade is not a RPG. It’s actually a medieval brawler.
In a developer diary, Kylotonn explained the swords and weapons you wield in The Cursed Crusade are designed to kill. "As fond of medieval romance as we are, we didn’t want our weapons to bear romantic symbolism. We decided to go in the opposite direction. We wanted to show that a sword from these times was a weapon, a tool used for killing people and that as such, it had no beauty to it at all. Around 1200, soldiers carried swords, and that was not a romantic notion at all. It was no different than carrying a gun. Is a gun romantic? We tend not to think so."
You can’t get too attached to your sword either. Weapons in The Cursed Crusade break so players will have to pry axes and maces from the hands of their fallen enemies.
