Noel Draws His Dual Swords In These Final Fantasy XIII-2 Screens

Noel, Serah’s savior in Final Fantasy XIII-2, brings two swords to battle. The cheerful newcomer is a Gran Pulse native who isn’t aware of the events in Final Fantasy XIII. "If you haven’t played XIII before you can find yourself almost like Noel because he’s detached from what happened in Final Fantasy XIII. These players can enjoy the events as a new experience," Motomu Toriyama, Director, said in an interview with Siliconera.

In these battle screenshots, Noel uses abilities like area blast when assigned to the attacker/commando role. Interesting to note that Square Enix renamed the role shifting system from "Optima Change" to "Paradigm Shift" (the international name) in Japan.

Japan gets Final Fantasy XIII-2 this December. Square Enix plan to release the game overseas in early 2012.
