By now, you’ve probably heard that Valve’s popular Steam service now supports free-to-play games. Included amongst the first batch of titles are Champions Online, Global Agenda, and a Sega-published MMO, titled Spiral Knights.

Spiral Knights is a Java-based game, played from a top-down perspective. You can form parties with up to three other players. I had a quick go at it with Laura this past week. We didn’t have the time to play for very long, but at first glance, I liked the visual style, which reminded me a little of the playfulness of Ragnarok Online.

Conveniently, the Steam version allows you to use your Steam account to play, so you won’t have to create a user account specifically for the game.
