Project Aces are pushing for a realistic story in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. The plot, Namco Bandai reveal, is penned by New York Times Best Seller and military author, Jim DeFelice. They promise an engaging war drama, taking place in real locations across the world.

That fits right in with their other focus, which is to emphasize the destruction involved in dogfights. One way they’re addressing this is through the over-the-wing camera, and encouraging players to use machine guns more. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is slated for release on October 11th on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
