If you were thinking of grabbing Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D but weren’t quite sure if it was for you, there might be a little more incentive to pick it up now. Capcom have announced that the multiplayer game will include a demo version of Resident Evil: Revelations.
If you haven’t kept up with news of that game, Resident Evil: Revelations is Capcom’s other Resident Evil title for the 3DS, and unlike Mercenaries, appears to be a singleplayer affair starring Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. Story-wise, the game occurs prior to Resident Evil 5.
While Revelations takes place from a behind-the-shoulder view like Resident Evil 4, Capcom say the game will feel more like the scarier Resident Evil games on the PS One, rather than the more recent action-oriented titles. If you need to get caught up, you can read up on our hands-on impressions of Resident Evil: Revelations from Nintendo World in January, and a few additional details from Capcom’s panel at the same event.
There’s also the Resident Evil: Revelations tag, which you can use to look up screenshots and read about the technology that the game is built on.
In Japan, Capcom have the game scheduled for a June 2nd release, but in the U.S. and Europe, an official release date hasn’t been announced.
