Japan has a tiny Virtual Console release schedule for April, but it has two Super Nintendo favorites on it. Chrono Trigger, Squaresoft’s time-twisting RPG, is one of them.
Square Enix released a port of Chrono Trigger for Nintendo DS with extra features such as a new ending, a series of Reptite fetch quests, and a new dungeons. While the Wii version does not have those additions, you can pilot the Epoch on your TV if you have a spare 900 Wii Points ($9). Yes, Chrono Trigger is a premium download.
Mega Man X from Capcom is coming to Virtual Console in April too. Harness the power of the Hadouken and the Sting Chameleon’s weapon (again) for just 800 Wii Points ($8). A NeoGeo ROM of King of the Monsters 2 will also be available for 900 Wii Points next month.
While these games have not been announced for North America, Japanese releases that were localized usually pop up on North America’s store a few months down the road.
