When we interviewed him to learn more about the game, Akiba’s Trip producer, Luke Rideout, told us that the game came about as a result of a concept of an action game that doesn’t rely simply on “beating up the enemy.”
For this reason, Akiba’s Trip’s combat is a little more strategic, relying on attacks to the head, upper and lower body, along with Combo attacks and new techniques to be learnt along the way. The catch, though, is that your enemies in Akiba’s Trip are vampire-like creatures, and you need to expose their bodies to sunlight to defeat them…by stripping them of their clothes.
This new promo video gives one a good look at Akiba’s Trip’s combat system, developed by Acquire’s Way of the Samurai team, including the strip-combos that help you defeat your enemies. You can learn more about the game in our recent interview with Luke.
No overseas publisher has been announced plans to publish Akiba’s Trip outside Japan yet.
