Save states, in-game instruction manuals, sound replay mode (a background music player), replays (save up to eight per game), and online play are part of the package. PlayStation 3 owners can invite a friend via the XMB bar or find a game by picking quick match or match search. Players can also create their own match and pick settings before the game starts. SNK’s NeoGeo games work on PSP too, but on the go versions only have ad-hoc support.

These games are the original releases with all of the original bugs. SNK says they want players to enjoy the original versions without any changes as they were back in the day.

Ten games are set to launch on December 22. They are:

Art of Fighting
ASO II: Last Guardian
Baseball Stars Professional
Fatal Fury
League Bowling
Magician Lord
Metal Slug
Samurai Shodown
Super Sidekicks
The King of Fighters ’94

Each NeoGeo Station release costs 900 yen ($11) for PS3 and 700 yen ($8.50) for PSP.

Update: NeoGeo station is confirmed for North America and we’re getting these games a day earlier than Japan. SNK’s service kicks off on December 21. PS3 games will cost $8.99 while PSP versions will be $6.99.
