G-Mode brought one of their mobile phone RPGs to DSiWare. Magical Fantasia follows four characters on the planet Emerda: Johan (quiet hero), Julius (magic inept swordsmen), Utona (courageous princess), and Yubel (princess’ escort).
The heroes are thrown into a battle between modern technology and magic. In the middle of this war, they have to save the star Stella-Maris too. How? With magic, of course. G-Mode developed an arts system, which lets players spend AP (art points) to cast spells. When your spells combine you can create a unique and probably more powerful attack.
Johan’s journey will take him across plains, deserts, and to flying towers in the sky which you reach by taking airships. Magical Fantasia sounds a bit derivative, but it’s a 500 DSiWare point ($5) game.
Magical Fantasia is part of a G-Mode owned series. This game is actually Magical Fantasia 3 on mobile phones, but I guess G-Mode dropped the number since its the first one for Nintendo DS. Magical Fantasia is available now, If you have a Japanese Nintendo DSi.
