Interesting fact: Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle wasn’t always for the Nintendo 3DS. The last title in the Layton prequel trilogy was originally being developed for the original DS and Level-5 decided to rebuild the game from the ground up for 3DS.
Mask of Miracle is set one year after Layton and his apprentice, Luke, meet. During the game, you’ll follow two separate (but connected) timelines: one in the present with Luke and Layton, and one in the past, during the professor’s younger days.
Like all Layton games before it, Mask of Miracle will feature post-release downloadable puzzles. Level 5 are promising one new puzzle every day for a year after the game releases. This is ambitious even by Level-5 standards, who delivered one new downloadable quest a week in Dragon Quest IX for a year after launch.
