In an interview with Edge magazine, former Team Ninja head and founder of new startup, Valhalla Studios, Tomonobu Itakagi, reveals his desire to enter the world of politics.

“Yes. There have been some offers for me to become a political candidate in Japan, and we do need a strong leader,” Itagaki revealed to Edge staff, after requesting that they ask him whether he’d like to get into politics. The interviewer then asked whether Itagaki felt Japan would accept a leader with his fashion sense.

“I think so. No, they will,” Itagaki asserted. “Think about it. Japan is such a hot country, and yet all the current leaders wear suits all the time. Does that make any more sense? I’m much more picky about how I dress. But, you know, there are a lot of things I haven’t done in this industry, so I’ll probably stay in it until I die.”

Food for thought:

By his own admission, here are a few of the things Itagaki considers to be of importance in the world: Violence, women, flowers, friendship, betrayal, death, dancing and children.
