Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Covers Pain Arc, Has Hokage Naruto

Namco Bandai’s upcoming Naruto Shippuden game covers several story arcs. The PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 game begins with Naruto returning home after years of training and goes all the way up to the Pain arc.

Just like the last Ultimate Ninja Storm game, CyberConnect2 created multistage boss battles. The Gaara vs. Deidara battle takes place in the sky, for example, and Deidara changes patterns after each stage. Other grandiose scale battles include: Sakura vs. Sasori, Sasuke vs. Itachi, Sasuke vs. Orochimaru, and Jiraiya vs. Pain.

Pain, including his six paths, is playable in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. A representative from Namco Bandai also confirmed the Fourth Hokage and Team Hebi – Suigetsu, Karin, and Jugo for the game. Players will be able to unlock alternate costumes like Sasuke’s Akatsuki outfit and a Hokage costume for Naruto.

While a release date was not announced, a staff member on the US side said Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 should launch in North America before Japan. The game is slated for October 21 in Japan.
