Nintendo just announced the official release date for Metroid: Other M in Japan and confirmed rumors circulating on 2ch.
Following in the footsteps of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and New Super Mario Bros., two major first party releases, Metroid: Other M will also make its worldwide debut in North America. Team Ninja’s take on Metroid is set for August 31 in North America and September 2 in Japan.
A few days is nothing compared to the wait for Metroid Prime. Nintendo of America launched the Gamecube game on November 17, but Japan didn’t get Metroid Prime until February 28, 2003. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes took even longer, there was a six month gap between the East and West. And don’t even mention Advance Wars: Days of Ruin to Japan. They still don’t have it. See, sometimes we get good things first.
