Sony forecasts 15 million PS3s sold worldwide between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011. New hardware, the slim PS3, which was released last September helped boost PS3 sales. PlayStation Move, a motion controller, will launch later this year.

While Sony raised expectations for the PS3, their PSP forecast dropped. Retailers worldwide moved 9.9 million PSPs in their last fiscal period. In contrast, Sony only plans on selling 8 million PSPs in fiscal year 2010.

Sony also has a lower PlayStation 2 forecast, 6 million units compared to 7.3 million sold. But, hey, that’s still 6 million PS2s.
