Microsoft just unveiled a 3-D game at CES that doesn’t require a 3-D TV set. With classic red and cyan glasses, Scrap Metal leaps out of the screen.
Scrap Metal is a demolition derby style game coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Players customize cars with chainsaws, rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and a food processor thing called “The Pulverizer” before crushing rival cars. The game has sixty single player missions plus Xbox Live online play for six players.
And Scrap Metal has an anaglyph 3-D mode. So, if you turn it on and dust off your 1980s 3-D glasses you’ll see an extra layer of depth. Scrap Metal is scheduled for release this spring.
