SNK is fueling Xbox Live Arcade with actual arcade games. Next year, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, The King of Fighters 2002: Ultimate Match, KOF Sky Stage, and Metal Slug XX will be available as downloads.
OK, Metal Slug XX isn’t an “arcade” game. It’s a port of Metal Slug 7, which hits PSPs in Japan this December and Xbox Live Arcade next spring. Online enabled versions of KOF Sky Stage and a graphically enhanced version of NeoGeo Battle Coliseum are targeted for spring 2010 as well.
After those games, SNK will finish The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match for Xbox Live. The revised and rebalanced version of The King of Fighters 2002 is slated for summer 2010. While these timelines have only been announced in Japan, SNK’s XBLA games arrive in North America and Europe simultaneously even if they’re not fully translated.
