Konami Changes Gradius ReBirth’s Core With Upgrade Patch

Out of the blue Konami, just released a patch for Gradius Rebirth (thanks for the tip Denpa no Sekai!!).

This revision modifies the scoring system, enhances the graphics, and adds background music. A few other tweaks like displaying the number of runs through the game and a stage select change are part of the update too. Since Konami re-worked the scoring system the update also has a new leaderboard chart.

 

You can get the update by downloading Gradius ReBirth again from the Wii Shopping Channel.

 

Kudos to Konami and M2, the developer, for updating Gradius ReBirth this late. The game came out over a year ago in Japan. Also, how often do Wii or WiiWare games get patched? Better question — has a Wii or WiiWare game been patched post release?
