Sony trademarked the term TouchEngine for use with everything from analog/digital controllers for video game[s], namely joysticks to car navigation computers.
Unlike other Sony trademarks this wasn’t filed by Sony Computer Entertainment America, their headquarters in Japan filed this so it may or may not be related to a future PlayStation product.
However, at one time ex-Sony Worldwide Studios Phil Harrison was credited for a handheld touch screen device. Designs for the unreleased product exist in patent form.
