A GamesIndustry.biz report claims that Project Fortress, the Final Fantasy action game set in Ivalice, — initially in development at Swedish developer GRIN prior to their closure — is still being worked on.

Sources close to both parties have revealed that the game, initially signed off in Tokyo in the second half of last year and codenamed Fortress, was central to the collapse of the Swedish developer – Square took the project off GRIN after only six months of development due to concerns over quality issues.

A month ago, concept art and screenshots from the GRIN project made their way onto the Internet shortly after the company’s closure via various blogs and LinkedIn profiles. It remains to be seen if they’re still indicative of the product in development now.
