Originally, Ace Attorney Investigations Didn’t Star Edgeworth

Miles Edgeworth is the lead character in Ace Attorney Investigations. His name is even in the title as a key selling point for fans, but it wasn’t always that way. At one time Capcom considered using Ema Skye, the peppy forensic scientist who first appeared in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney as the lead.

“The director originally proposed to use Ema as the main character,” Motohide Eshiro, Producer. “But, according to the feedback we got from our fans it seems Edgeworth was the more popular character. So we decided to listen to the fans and use the more popular character.”

 

I followed up and asked Eshiro what other character should have a spin-off. “Personally, I really like Edgeworth, but if we were to make another series why not make a game with Gumshoe? We can have Ace Detective!”
