Since Spectral Force Genesis was announced for Europe, a North American release seemed probable, if not inevitable. Thanks to an ESRB leak we know Ignition picked up the DS strategy game.
Spectral Force Genesis has players control an army, but unlike other strategy RPGs you command your troops by drawing paths on the touch screen. It’s sort of like a football playbook with… elves. One thing up in the air is the localization. Will Ignition will polish the European localization or are we’re going to get the same game? Either way the ESRB gives us some sample sentences from the North American release.
Character dialogue includes some suggestive references (e.g., “Let me see how different you taste from the harem girls,” “Physical love is not the only form of love,” and “Murimachi samurai exiled for adultery”). Some expletives (“bastard,” “damn,” and “hell”) and references to alcohol (e.g., “Famously drank an entire keg” and “His drunken fists don’t allow anyone to follow him.”) appear in the dialogue as well.
Because of obscure games like this and Docomodake DS Ignition is definitely a publisher we’re going to watch.
