NIS America told us they wouldn’t disappoint when it came to releasing Disgaea 2 Portable domestically. We’ll get to know the PSP game better under the name Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days when it comes out here.
The news isn’t 100% official yet, but since the ESRB leaked the name and since Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories already came out on the PlayStation 2 all signs are pointing to a North American release in the near future.
While this is a port Nippon Ichi added a number of features to Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. Let’s take a look at them.
A brand new story line starring Axel, the Dark Hero, and his friends like the director.
A new villager runs a music shop where you can collect songs. Axel and Adell can view the total time played, maximum damage, and other stats at the record shop. The color change shop where you can purchase alternate colors for your generic troops is hidden in the item world.
Gameplay elements like the Magichange system and receive toss are part of Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days.
New weapon skills like Cocytus (guns) and Hyper Devil King 10 hit Beheading Cleave (sword).
Powerful “peta” magic. Here’s Peta Star as an example.
New to the PSP game are Angel Soldiers that attack, heal, and cast star magic.
This is a type of Entei, a powerful fire demon class.
The Sabre Cat from Phantom Brave and Disgaea 3 makes an appearance.
You can also unlock the female samurai class, but you need to have data from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness to do it.
Playable cameo characters (what NIS game doesn’t have them?) include Asagai, the heroine who never gets her own game, Marjoly from Rhapsody, and Prism Red.
