Still not quite sure what Nobi Nobi Boy is since it wasn’t playable at Tokyo Game Show, but since it’s a brand new project from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi I’m quite curious what it is. Namco Bandai’s official Nobi Nobi Boy site doesn’t help much by listing the game’s genre as “video game” and explaining the worm-like creature extends. The site, however, has some critical information like Nobi Nobi Boy’s release date which is January 29 in Japan and it will be sold for 800 yen ($8.50) as a downloadable PlayStation Network game.
Nobi Nobi Boy is also scheduled to come out in Korea the same day and it has been recently rated by the USK, Germany’s ESRB, so it’s possible Namco Bandai is aiming for a worldwide release around January 29. One of the other features the website reveals is users can save and upload movies to YouTube, a feature that sounds similar to what’s in PixelJunk Eden.
Update: Namco Bandai hasn’t announced a release date for North America, but an English version will be ready on January 29 too.
