DSiWare Kicks Off Next Week In Japan, Here’s The Launch Lineup

Sitting with a Nintendo DSi and wondering where all the downloadable DSiWare games are? They’re coming. Nearly out of the blue Nintendo announces a slew of them scheduled to come out on December 24. The good news is everyone with a DSi will get more than Brain Training Lite and a Memo pad. Nintendo of Japan’s DSiWare launch line up has Art Style games and a neat looking entry in the Wario Ware series. The bad news is only Nintendo is contributing to the DSiWare lineup at this point. Unlike the WiiWare launch in Japan there aren’t any third party games.

Ugoku Memo-Cho (Moving Memo Pad) – An animated memo pad.

Free / 84 Blocks

Tori to Mame (Bird and Bean) – A simple platformer where you guide a bird over potholes and munch on falling beans.

200 DSiPoints / 14 Blocks

Kami Hikooki (Paper Airplane) – Control a falling paper airplane so it doesn’t touch any obstacles as it descends. The game has a random generated stages, a time attack, and a battle mode.

Chotto Magic Taisen (Brief Magic Encyclopedia) – Individual “magic tricks” you can impress your friends with.

200 DSiPoints each / 22-25 Blocks each

Art Style: Aquario – An underwater colored block matching game in the style of the Bit Generations games.

Art Style: Decode – A numeric puzzle game where numbers between 1-5 fly from left to right. Players need to arrange these numbers in groups so they add up to 10.

Chotto Dr. Mario (Brief Dr. Mario) – It’s Dr. Mario without any online play.

Utsusu Made in Wario (Wario Ware Imitate) – Probably the neatest game of the DSiWare launch. This Wario Ware game uses a camera to have players simulate actions like riding a roller coaster.
