During the months of summer vacation Sony Computer Entertainment America will not release any first party games in retail stores. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be the last SCEA retail game until SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation comes on September 16. In the intervening months PlayStation Network titles are going to take center stage. PixelJunk Eden, wipEout HD, Elefunk, and Siren: Blood Curse, all of which are downloadable PlayStation 3 games, will fill the gap.

Arguably, the PlayStation 3 won’t need strong first party support this summer since Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out on June 12. Also the PlayStation Network lineup looks pretty sweet with PixelJunk Eden and Siren: Blood Curse. However, it’s interesting to note Sony is shifting their focus towards digital distribution.

What will happen to the PlayStation 3 owners who cannot connect their console online?
