I don’t frequent McDonalds, but I have noticed groups of PSP owners huddled into a booth when I stopped in once for a late night snack. I wasn’t aware that this was common in Hong Kong. According to weekly game magazine, Gamestation it is and the house of Ronald is also a house for Monster Hunter. Let’s forget that their last two covers featured Monster Hunter Portable 2G and look at an article from their latest issue.
This is a list of 24 hour McDonalds featured in Gamestaton as a suggestion of where to meet up for Monster Hunter. While this may sound strange, McDonalds isn’t that bad a meeting place. Cheap food, free use of Wi-Fi (time limited, but it’s free) and some locations open all night. It’s like a bring your own internet café with fries.
I remember Nintendo had a promotion with McDonalds to equip their restaurants with Wi-Fi in the USA, but after the announcement not much was said about it. Has anyone taken advantage of it? Happy meals and Pokemon trading sound like a good mix for McDonalds, but it’s far from the phenomenon it could be.
