Surgery in Africa is about the depth of our knowledge when it comes to Trauma Center 2, better known as Caduceus 2 in Japan. Let’s put the pretext aside for a moment and focus on the heart of Trauma Center, the operations. The trailer over on the official Caduceus 2 page flashes a frames of surgery, which we captured for analysis.
Anyone who played through Trauma Center: Under the Knife should be familiar with stylus stitching.
Removing tumors? It looks like the Powell procedure returns in Trauma Center 2. Scan with the ultrasound, cut, drain, and extract.
The defibrillator isn’t new to the Trauma Center series. The life saving tool was introduced in Trauma Center: Second Opinion. However, it’s new for the DS. I wonder if we will press the shoulder buttons down to control it.
This procedure is reminiscent of the liver transplant operation from Trauma Center: New Blood. Perhaps this is the appendix removal operation? It's hard to tell with the neon organ colors.
Ah, the bone puzzles introduced in Trauma Center: Second Opinion make a touch screen debut.
It looks like the aneurysm removal procedure will be in Trauma Center 2 as well. I always found this operation to be tricky if you try to avoid using the healing touch. You have to divide your attention between magnifying, injecting partial amounts of the sedative and extracting them before they burst.
Glass extraction, a Trauma Center staple.
This operation looks similar to the skin graft operations in Trauma Center: New Blood where you have to rapidly apply four patches of tissue on burnt skin. The screenshot shows you need multiple pieces of something, but it doesn’t explain if the something (epithelial tissue?) needs to be removed first.
Of course the Healing Touch plays a role. Maybe Derek learned some new tricks besides slowing time.
Finally, something new! It looks like this could be a cell, but that doesn’t seem to fit with the game. This is Trauma Center not Microbiology: Under the Microscope.
