Tidbits on the Star Ocean PSP remakes

Thanks go to Jeff L. who sent over a link containing a bunch of Star Ocean scans. Details are hard to make out, but the Star Ocean: First Departure will revamp the battle system. Instead of being menu driven, it will use an action oriented battle system similar to the other games in the series. The story will be enhanced with hand drawn facial animations and there will be an animated opening done by Production I.G. Star Ocean: The Second Evolution will also include pop up faces and similar graphical enhancements. Since news on the PSP remakes are starting to come in, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Star Ocean games appear on Square-Enix’s Tokyo Game Show list in the near future.
