A couple of months back Funimation announced that they were granting Destineer the license to produce Fullmetal Alchemist video games. Destineer is best known for the Close Combat series, but that’s about to change with Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy. Unlike the other FMA games, which have been side stories Dual Sympathy covers the entire Fullmetal Alchemist saga complete with clips from the show. Players can take on the role of Edward Elric, his younger brother Alphonse, their teacher Izumi, Alex Louise Armstrong, Roy Mustang and Scar in the side scrolling adventure. Each character has the ability to use alchemy to transmute objects by holding down buttons on the DS. In between the action there are touch screen mini games like “Whack-A-Homunculus” and “Fullmetal vs. Flame” to play. Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy is coming out this Fall.
Destineer said Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy is the first in a series of Fullmetal Alchemist games. Maybe Fullmetal Alchemist 3: Kami o Tsugu Shoujo or the fighting game Fullmetal Alchemist: Dream Carnival is going to get a release in the future.
